OWLS will hike the Toyon Trail on Friday March 27 at Coal Mine Ridge Nature Preserve in Portola Valley starting at 10 AM. (Most of the narrow trail is easy, but there are a few sections that are elevated. At one point towards the end of our hike inwards, we might walk on a wood plank while holding a rope to cross a creek; but there are benches before we get to this point if OWLS want to sit and wait for others to return for the hike back to the trail entry.) Please let me know if you are joining OWLS for our hike and/or lunch so I can know how many to wait for at the trailhead. We will meet at 10AM at the main entrance and parking area for Coal Mine Ridge Nature Preserve located along Alpine Road at the intersection with Willowbrook Dr in Portola Valley.

Free parking is available along Alpine Road right across from the trailhead that is on the left side of the road, and also along the road when you turn right on Willowbrook Dr across from the trailhead.

Note: there are no bathrooms at the trailhead, so stop at Robert’s Portola Valley grocery store at 420 Alpine Road Portola Valley CA 94028 if you need to go before the hike starts or after.
