About this event

On Friday, March 13 starting at 9:30AM OWLS will be guided by two docents at the Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve ('Ootchamin 'Ooyakma) for an educational hiking tour to learn about Stanford’s research, education, and stewardship work at this nearby preserve. Tours generally last about 2 hours and cover 1 to 2.5 miles on trails and gravel roads. Each docent can guide up to 8 OWLS so they can accommodate up to 16 hikers. Given this I need to know as soon as possible if you will be joining OWLS for this hike at the Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve.

Directions: Getting to Jasper Ridge
Meet at Main Entrance: 4001 Sand Hill Road Woodside, CA
Driving: ~20 minutes from Stanford’s main campus. Carpooling is encouraged.
Rideshare: Drop-off and pick-up at the main gate— plan for a 5–10 minute walk to the Field Station, or drive to Visitor Parking at the Sun Field Station

Please review the tour guidelines and visitor information and the Jasper Ridge Health and Safety Information to help you prepare for this hike. This preserve is located at 4001 Sand Hill Road and Lakeshore Drive in San Mateo County. The Program Manager for Jasper Ridge provided this info to share with OWLS:

Duration: 2 hours
Trail Description: Tours typically cover 1.5 - 3 miles on singletrack trails and gravel roads with 100 - 500ft elevation gain (Easy / Moderate difficulty)
